Associate Director - Sales & Business Development


The Associate Director will report to the Head of Business Development & Sales, who in turn reports to the co-Founder and Managing Director of Frontier Strategy Group.  The Associate Director will be responsible for presenting the Council on Emerging Markets’ value proposition to potential clients and their teams in region.  He or she should be comfortable working in an international setting and around a multi-cultural client base.  Frontier Strategy Group is a high-growth, high energy organization with ambitious plans. Only exceptional candidates with a demonstrated track record will be considered. 


Responsibilities:

  • Drive and manage a pipeline of prsospects consisting of C-suite level executives in Emerging Markets, within an agreed geographic region (Asia Pacific / Latin America / EMEA)
  • Work closely with a designated Business Development Associate, who is responsible for lead & meeting generation, and other sales support; ensure team commitment and success
  • Develop our company’s client base through a consultative sales approach which requires intellect, business acumen and a strong understanding of the issues facing executives in emerging markets, as you map their issues to our product range to reinforce our value proposition
  • Drive revenue growth by exceeding quarterly and annual quotas within assigned territory through phone and in person sales meetings
  • Contribute ideas for sales strategies and value-added solutions to capture market share and enhance customer value; support the Head of Business Development and Sales in developing scripting and ensuring the team functions at the highest level
  • Partner with research and client services to help shape on-going value proposition, product development
  • Capture new product opportunities; feedback client needs to new product development


Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree from a good school with a strong GPA; MBA preferred
  • Either a minimum 5 years of work experience in a commercial environment or 3 years of work experience with at least 18 months in sales working with a C-suite client base
  • Proven track record of success in transactional sales
  • Exceptional written and verbal presentation skills — able to create and deliver convincing arguments and build rapport and credibility quickly with senior executives
  • Experience selling an intangible service (vision sell) is strongly preferred  
  • A demonstrated track record of initiative, creativity and motivation to achieve the highest standard of performance in previous roles
  • Demonstrated interest in Emerging Markets and solving client issues through consultation is strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated understanding of sales process mechanics


Preferred experience:

  • Ability and desire to relocate abroad if necessary
  • Experience living/studying abroad with advanced foreign language skills is preferred
  • Experience in the information services industry
