Graphic Designer
The successful candidate will have excellent technical skills and a flair for conceptualizing complex ideas and a great deal of information into clear and compelling formats. He or she will be able to work quickly and produce client-ready documents on short time scales. He or she will also be adept at working with content authors, and will demonstrate the ability to work in a team to deliver high quality work. The role presents a an excellent opportunity for an individual to develop their creative skills, and to play a key role in a growing company.
Responsibilities:
- Developing marketing collateral to support the sales team
- Developing high-quality reports
- Designing invitations, both email (HTML) and printed version
- Designing meeting handouts
- Designing online and printed PowerPoint presentations
- Contributing to the website design
- Prepare files for external printing
- Contribute to the development of a “house style” for all products and external documents
Required experience:
- Bachelors degree in Graphic Design
- 12+ months of demonstrated professional experience within a Corporate environment; exceptional candidates graduating in 2008 may be considered
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Excellent project management skills with an ability to juggle conflicting demands and priorities – able to manage a significant workload consisting of short and long term projects
- Solid background in information presentation
- Demonstrated familiarity with Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, Dreamweaver and Flash
Skills:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills – comfortable explaining design concepts, options, and decisions to internal clients
- Willingness to be flexible to project needs; availability to work occasional long days and weekends
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Strong client service ethic
- Track record of meeting deadlines in a pressurized environment
- Creative and innovative – track record of devising creative solutions to difficult problems; eager to develop new methodologies in the interests of our clients
- Strong grasp of design theory, illustration, color theory, and typography
- Strong conceptual thinking with great attention to detail
Location:
The position is based in our Washington DC headquarters at 1150 18th Street NW, Washington DC, 20036. Salary will be commensurate with experience.
