Senior Analyst, Latin America


Working with senior executives from the world’s leading companies, Frontier Strategy Group (FSG) helps our clients compete successfully in the most dynamic and fast-moving markets they operate in.

Currently, we are specifically seeking an individual to strengthen our Latin American focused research team. He or she should be fluent in both spoken and written Spanish, with Portuguese language ability an advantage.

Questions FSG analysts have recently tackled include:

  • How can I best enter the Paraguayan market?
  • Which countries in Latin America represent the best investment opportunities for me?
  • How can I position my business for success in Venezuela when the climate there changes?
  • How can I change my salesforce’s behavior in Central America so that it conforms to my company’s global standards?
  • What’s the best way to market a premium product as I am entering new markets in Latin America?

Our research team consists of intelligent, enthusiastic and high-potential analysts and senior analysts who produce high quality analysis of best practices for tackling specific challenges in emerging markets. Analysts work on customized short answer research reports for individual clients, and also on more general projects for broader groups of clients. Analysts conduct primary research with Senior Executives, Government and NGO officials, and other relevant parties.

Required experience:

  • Graduate (Bachelors or Masters degree) with strong academic credentials
  • Minimum of 2+ years of work experience gained in a commercial research environment, creating deliverables for an executive audience
  • Experience conducting both primary and secondary research
  • Demonstrated experience of managing multiple assignments of differing timelines
  • In depth understanding of the research process – ability to identify, assimilate and understand information from many different sources – including databases, and interviews with executives
  • Demonstrated experience of quantitative and qualitative research – superior analytical abilities
  • Ability to see the forest from the trees – able to identify mine the data for the relevant nuggets of insight; demonstrates creativity in identifying key ideas, linkages and relevant comparisons.


Preferred experience:

  • Experience interacting with senior executives
  • Prior knowledge of and exposure to emerging markets, and the issues facing businesses operating in these markets
  • Practiced at distilling massive amounts of data into succinct, relevant conclusions for clients
  • Ability to locate and procure sensitive data from original sources and senior executives


Skills:

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, in English and Spanish; knowledge of Portuguese would be an advantage
  • Able to conceptualize complex ideas and present them in compelling visual formats that are easily digestible by a busy audience
  • Superior analytical skills, as demonstrated by a track record of thought leadership and problem solving activities
  • Ability to analyze quantitative and/or qualitative data
  • Strong project management and time management skills; efficient in managing multiple projects – able to work quickly whilst producing quality output
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with ability to build and maintain relationships
  • Language skills would be an advantage – Spanish or Mandarin are preferred
  • Familiarity with PowerPoint, and other Microsoft Office programs

Location:

The position is based in our Washington DC headquarters at 1150 18th Street NW, Washington DC, 20036. Occasional travel is a requirement for the successful candidate (c.3 days a month).
