The Council on Emerging Markets for Heads of Asia Pacific serves executives from global companies who are responsible for their company’s strategy or operations in the critical Asia-Pacific Region. Participation is reserved for the senior-most executive responsible for the region, and his or her direct reports.
Whether a company is aggressively entering new markets, expanding its existing footprint in key markets, or both, success in Asia Pacific today requires new levels of performance. The growth and westward expansion of investment in China, the emergence of India, and the need to realize the potential of Future 7 countries such as Vietnam, Indonesia and the Philippines, creates enormous growth opportunity.
At the same time companies face a new set of challenges as they seek to execute on their growth objectives: new local and global competitors, cost inflation, and a fiercely competitive labor market.
The Council on Emerging Markets – Asia Pacific helps companies raise the bar on strategy and execution by enabling them to learn from the experiences and proven best practices of their peers who have done it right.
Executives participate in the Council on Emerging Markets for Heads of Asia Pacific to address a variety of strategic and tactical priorities, including, but not limited to:
• Comparing growth rates to industry and non-industry peers in the region and specific countries.
• Prioritizing investments and resources in markets over short and long term.
• Improving talent recruitment, development and retention.
• Analyzing prospective markets and developing market-entry strategies.
• Reducing operational waste and driving cost efficiencies.
• Identifying and vetting local acquisition targets and joint venture partners.
• Negotiating agreements with host governments.
• Developing world-class logistics and distribution strategies.
